To describe every person in Ecomobi:
After 7+ years since the day I officially started working for the company which I kept loving it for a long time before I applied my very first of job, I just realize recently that, not salary or bonus but the Leader and the Culture are the most important points you should pay attention on when you want to join in any group.
The first time I discerned about Culture, was the moment I worked for Adflex with its Core Value I still remember some: Honest, Open Minded, Enthusiasm, and Commitment 100%… Although, all of those core values sound good, and I myself also try to follow, but, the truth is, not all of us understand or believe totally. And the result is I sometimes wonder myself aren’t they are the real values which we always talk about but never seriously keep a true “integrity”?
So, it should be my luck when I had a chance to start-up everything from the beginning with my Brothers. Experiences a lot of incidents, difficulties… make me understand more why we should build up our own Culture and keep it lasting along with time. And also, written in words what I do base on my instincts.
Below are my reflections about the chosen core values:
“To keep doing COMPLETELY the right thing when no one watching. To keep doing COMPLETELY my right thing even when no one understand”
Above is my understand about Integrity. And it is really helpful for a person who somehow easy to be affected by external conditions, like me. Now I know that, I should not only follow what I already agreed it is the right thing, but also need to help the others to keep their word if they sometimes forget the Values we all chose before.
Integrity also teaches me to not compare to anyone. Stop blaming life. Each person has their own problems. Our job is, to keep the word by our best and be ready for any consequence caused by our choice, without any excuse. Besides, need to stop using this sentence in the whole of my life: “None of my biz”, not only in company but also in family.
Actually at first, I am a little worry this value would make me to be more stubborn (I was stubborn since I was a young girl), but luckily, we still have the Open-Minded value which already included inside Integrity. Lol.
“To recognize the root of problems are ourselves”
By knowing that I am the root of problems, will help me to change myself. Because no one can understand ME more than ME, and also, no one can change ME instead of ME.
Blaming always happen when we think about other’s fault and want to change their thinking/viewpoint. But the most fallibility of human is trying to change someone else life. Our Vietnamese ancestors used to say, “The parents give the lives, but God decides the characters”. So, our job is to ask ourselves these following questions:
Did I really do anything to help my friends?
Did I do the best to help them yet?
Next time, what should I do to avoid the failure?
All these questions must be derived from the “I” so we can easily find out the solutions.
Make the failure of Indonesia team as example, we can see many reasons make us losing publishers to other competitors. And Yonathan is the PIC, so he is one who take full responsibilities of this failure. But I, as a member of Indonesian Team, and as a member of BOD, is the root of problem for sure. I cannot say all the faults were from Yonathan, and ask for bonus because my team was doing very well during the first month of Quarter IV, I noticed that I did not do my best to help him. I already asked what offers do he need for his publishers, already helped to look for new agency publishers, already encouraged his team every day, but I did not warning the BOD about this failure in advance, I did not pay attention about the Iphone7 event when it just started and I just realized it was failing after it already started for 1 week already with only 1 publisher joined in. Also, I did not help him to re-organize his team to work more effectiveness while I do know Yonathan is lacking of leadership experience.
Now I know that I have to pay attention to his team in a tighter, have more practical action to help, for example:
Propose to BOD about sending Yonathan to “Solf Skill training course”. He is our CM, an important position of Ecomobi. He need to be trained to be a real leader at Indonesia – our potential market. Need to be done within Quarter IV.
Help him to find a Hardcore staff who can help him fighting with Stubborn Publishers on Quarter I of 2017.
Check and follow strictly any event plans from his team.
I do hope that, after those activities, I and Yonathan can recover the KPIs. Together.
“To understand clearly about process and from there figure out the best way”
On my opinion, we cannot make the shortcut before we understand 100% about what we are doing. That would help much for Sales Person. Why?
Sales person can easily propose the best and convincing packages by understanding about Market Trend, about what Clients Need, about what do Company Have. How?
Well, it is a long way to go with learning, contacting, exchanging, accumulating, aggregating and finding solutions, day by day, year by year, and repeat it for whole life until understanding every detail, then, it is time for a better, faster and more breakthrough way. As a Sale Person, I and my team need to:
Understand fully about our inventory abilities.
Combine with what Client Needs. By remember we always want to give them Best Solutions (not about trying to sale), we will open to discuss with them and make them trust us as friends to share truly needs.
Offer packages. Fail? Contribute to make it better. Offer again. Try with many selected clients (Not all, or we will die) to learn and make summarize, then sending to our team so everyone can learn together and giving more ideas.
Write down into constructive, practical lessons to analyze both Failure and Success.
Action, again. Until I can make flexible-undeniable packages for each type of clients to achieve impacted result on KPIs
So, before being expert, don’t think about Growth-Hacking yet. This value is a little danger for newbie, I think.
Beside Open-Minded, Truly Care is my most loving value. Because I am an emotional person, so I love everything comes from heart. And because it comes from heart, so it is the most difficult value also. How do I take care of others when I don’t feel it is necessary? Most of us come to company and only think about how to finish our job well, correct, but not enough. Should be “everyone finish job well”. But how to keep everyone heads to common target? Only love can do that 😉
So, Truly Care is, to care our colleague from the small thing by our heart. Care about them like we care about ourselves. And sincerely ask them, “what can I do for you?’ – that’s the best question in every case, eventhough sometimes they don’t need you to do anything or you can’t do anything as well. Meanwhile, this question also apply for our Clients in order to let them believe that we are trying to understand what they really need for their products, and we are trying to solve it with them. However, this question should be asked when we want to be their truly friend or they would realize it fastly. Try to care about your client’s hobby, DOB… we will have a chance to win their hearts.
This value can connect everyone to be a united team, undefeatable. Amazing, I think.
“The output of your efforts is what your productivity will be measured by”
So, Result Oriented is about the measurable target. As I understand, how hard you worked is nothing if you are failed. There was no reason to palliate. No one on this world know about our failures until you success, sadly but true.
Results-oriented will get us a clear orientation in the process of working, thence, set out plans with specific and digitized goals.
In Sales Team, this value show itself very clear. Approaching hundreds of clients, making thousands of phone calls, or having millions of relationships are nothing until you get the signed contracts. Every result of Sales team will be recorded by Revenue, only! Who care how long does it take you to follow Clients if they don’t corporate with you? Meaningless.
As I wrote above, this value also makes me interesting in. Because I am the Frontline Warrior who always is at new market firstly so I understand this value the most. How to be Open-Minded?

Ecomobi is an international Company actually, so this value is so much important. Without open-minded, our team could not Understand – Love – Care – Be Responsible and keep Integrity together. Accept and respect all of Opinion, Culture, Lifestyle… will bring to us new knowledge.
For me, when I come to any new market, the first thing I would do is learning about their life until I think I understand enough, thence, apply Ecomobi culture into our new staff.
For my new staff, I also try to understand them first because each one, even they are fresher or experience one, also have their own style and viewpoint. And, because I open my mind first, open my heart first, so they also open to me. We learn from each other’s during the time we work together. Even when we are not together lately, we still be friend.
In summarize, our Core Value could be Wrong, could be Right to others outside. But we believe we are chosing to do our right thing, and those values are able to help us to reach our target. So I myself commit to live with it, completely, and keep my stakeholders follow as well.
